Fourteen year-old Brie Hancock from Perth, Western Australia, has been a Simply Music student for four years and has been composing her own pieces from the very beginning. Brie is a great student who keeps all of her Simply Music songs alive and also endeavours to make time each day to explore her own music and compose music that appeals to her.
Brie auditioned for and gained entry to John Curtin School of the Arts in 2010 where she currently plays in the Percussion Ensemble, the Wind Orchestra and the Choir. Music has become a wonderful and varied part of Brie’s life. At home Brie enjoys listening to a wide range of music – her favourite artists include classical players, Missy Higgins, Stevie Wonder, Florence and the Machine, Cat Empire, AC/DC and the Waifs to name a few.
When you listen to Brie’s compositions you can hear how she has expresses her own personality in her music. Brie hopes to share her two loves of music and working with young children into a future career.
