| About | Hi there, my name is Naomi and I set up MusicKids in March 2020 to instil a lifetime love of music in children from a young age, which I am extremely passionate about. I have worked with children for the last 20 years as a Montessori Teacher, directing children’s choirs and I currently work as a Music Teacher in Rathmichael N.S, Shankill and St Francis N.S, Newcastle, Ireland. While teaching music in primary schools, I was always looking for alternative ways to teach music, as I found at times the traditional music books recommended in schools were not as engaging as movement to music and other elements that my students responded extremely well. I completed my early year’s music training with Lynn Kleiner, when I stumbled across Neil Moore and Simply Music. This sent me on a whole new journey of discovery on this play based approach to learning piano which I am extremely passionate about. Since starting to teach Simply Music in 2020. I now have a music school of approx. 80 students. I am so excited about this approach to learning piano and passing this on to my students. It is a remarkable piano method that looks at both teaching and learning of music in a totally new light. This programme redefines how music is taught and sets a new standard in entry-level music learning. My goal for all my students is that they have music as a companion for life. I provide online lessons and in person lessons in my studio in Kilcoole, Co Wicklow. I look forward to meeting you in class ! Naomi |
